3650U Access the Internet 
Module Purpose
The
purpose of the module is to learn basic use of the Internet.
It will help you to be able to use the World Wide Web
to find information on a topic of your choice, use email
and access newsgroups.
How to use these Resources
These
resources will assist you in finding appropriate online
material to help broaden your understanding of the concepts
involved and to complete assessment events for the module.
They are meant to complement the work done in a classroom
with a teacher.
For each learning outcome this page provides some activities to
lead you to some key sites, some background reading and some
additional sites to explore if you choose.
Learning Outcomes
When you finish the module you should be able to:

which shows you how to: use encryption to shop and bank safely
online; to protect your computer from viruses; to keep your

a newsgroup and post a message go to the

Newsgroups part of Google's Dejanews site and find a discussion
group you would be interested to participate in. Read through
a thread and post a message yourself (to post a message you
will need to register and have a valid email address).
