How to use the Internet
Scrolling Up and Down
If a web page is longer than the screen you will have to scroll up
and down. There are 3 ways of doing this:
- On the right hand side of most pages you will see a grey rectangular
scroll bar under the little arrow. Click on the scroll bar with
the left mouse button and drag it down towards the bottom arrow.
- Click on the bottom arrow to move the page down and the top arrow
to move the page up.
- Use the Up/Down arrows on your keyboard.
Using Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks appear as highlighted text like this.
Simply click on the link to open another web page.
Moving Back and Forward
At the top of your screen you should see a 'toolbar'. Click on
the Back arrow to return to the last site visited.
After the Back arrow has been used once you can use the Forward
arrow to move forward again.
Note: If you have clicked
on a lot of links you will need to click several times on
the Back arrow to return to this guide.
Further Information

before you begin, go to the TAFE Access
