Transition Programs

 What we do

Transition Programs develops and supports student pathways through senior secondary general and vocational education on to further study and careers.

We are responsible for the management of courses providing pathways to tertiary education, higher level vocational training and employment. As part of our work we consult with other education agencies ranging from schools through to universities.

Our courses include:

  • Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC)
  • Higher School Certificate (HSC) delivered in TAFE, in a number of modes including one year intensive HSC, usual two year HSC, reduced units for adult students or accumulation of the HSC up to five years, as approved by the NSW Board of Studies. The new Industry Curriculum Frameworks are available as part of study for the HSC through TAFE.
  • TAFE HSC Pathways, which allows students to complete the HSC, as well as a TAFE vocational certificate and and be eligible for the Universities Admission Index (UAI).

Our courses provide students with a variety of TAFE vocational studies as well as providing tertiary preparation competencies. Students successfully completing vocational studies receive credit transfer into TAFE vocational certificates. Students may gain dual certification, in either the TPC or the HSC, by completing vocational certificates.
