Overview

 Who we are

Access & General Education Curriculum Centre (A&GE) develops general and vocational education programs and produces teaching and learning resources which assist teachers and trainers to deliver effectively education and training.

Our strategic intent is to promote and support excellence in vocational education and training.

Our mission is to lead vocational education and training in NSW by developing innovative education courses and supporting products and services. We also provide strategic advice which enhances the performance of our customers in a highly competitive environment. This is achieved through close consultation with industry groups and peak professional organisations, employers, Industry Skills Councils and other providers in the Vocational Education & Training (VET) sector.

 Our services

• design, implementation, support and evaluation of courses 
• design and development of learning support materials for a range of delivery strategies including on-line delivery 
• analysis of client training needs 
• recommendations for appropriate training strategies and resources 
• strategic planning advice to TAFE NSW Institutes on implementation of curriculum and training policy

• developing pathways between schools, further education and VET
• designing support mechanisms to assist disadvantaged people to access VET and employment
• designing support mechanisms to remove barriers to workplace training due to requirements for English language, literacy and numeracy
• developing and modelling strategies for integration of language, literacy and numeracy and key competencies into vocational education and training, including workplace delivery
• developing, coordinating and delivering professional development programs and resources for teachers, trainers and managers
• advising government departments on the implications for vocational education of major policy developments

TAFE NSW Curriculum Centres undertake a wide range of course and resource development work. If you are interested in participating in such work for A&GE complete the Expression of Interest form. Please consider applying to all the Curriculum Centres where your skills may be relevant.
