Teaching Young People in VET
This CD ROM teacher resource supports delivery to young people. The
information is presented in ten categories: Communication,
Comprehension, Computing, Language Activities, Literacy Activities,
Maths, Punctuation and Grammar, Study Skills and Essay Writing,
Vocational and Writing Activities. The activities have been provided by
current practitioners who have offered to share their resources.
Presented as Word and Excel documents, teachers can select parts that
are relevant to the learning outcomes they wish to target. Mentoring in the Community
This package (manual +CD ROM) is designed to assist facilitators in the delivery of the
TAFE NSW Module Mentoring in the Community (9803A). It offers extension
activities to the Facilitator Guide and Student Workbook developed in
2001 providing a range of additional activities, overheads and handouts.
It includes a matrix as a model of integrated delivery, however module
assessment requirements must till be observed. Teachers may find the
content relevant to the learning outcomes across a range of Access and
General Education modules. Online Journaling
This is a CD ROM teaching resource to support the delivery of communication, writing and literacy skills across a number of courses. Although the resource has been developed to support delivery to young people it could be used for a range of learners as an introduction to online journaling. The resource is presented as Word documents for easy download, amendment and printing.
Creative Writing
This is a CD ROM teaching resource to support the delivery of creative writing
across a number of access courses. Although the resource has been
developed to support delivery to young people it could be used for a
range of learners as an introduction to writing. It has student
activities that can be used independently or in conjunction with the
corresponding teaching notes. Activities can be tailored to suit a
variety of learner needs and interests and delivery patterns. The
resource is presented as Word documents for easy downloading and
printing. Page to Stage: A Documentary
Engaging Learners in Literacy through Music This DVD video demonstrates literacy learning through the process of songwriting and performance. The documentary follows the process of planning and implementing the 2005 Island Beats program run by TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute as part of the Helping Young People at Risk (HYPAR) program.
