Fine Arts & Contemporary Crafts

 What we do

Fine Arts & Contemporary Crafts develops courses and resources for a wide range of areas:

visual, fine, textile, glass, foundry, digital arts
painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics
Aboriginal arts; crafts; arts administration
museums & galleries, public art, cultural tourism

Fine (visual) arts is a major sector of the arts industry and contributes to quality of life in Australia and to an understanding of Australia's cultural identity.

Increasingly artists are experimenting with a variety of media and working in a range of environments. The trend by local councils and corporations to commission murals has raised the profile of public art and artists.

Fine Arts & Contemporary Crafts also covers galleries, museums, retail outlets, agents and arts organisations, all of which are involved in the exhibition, sale and promotion of visual arts products.
