Trends ~ TAFE NSW Alcohol & Drug Unit
RoleThe TAFE NSW Alcohol and Drug Unit provides advice, professional development and support in alcohol and drug education to TAFE NSW staff and students. ScopeIn partnership with key community organisations, government agencies & TAFE NSW Institutes the Unit provides customised short courses for front-line and specialist workers who respond to alcohol and drug issues in the community. The Unit also provides input and responses to DET and government policies, strategic plans and reports. Current NSW policy requires the Unit to deliver training and support to workers in regional, rural and remote areas, indigenous communities, and those working with young people and volunteers. Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia (ADCA) - the peak, national, non-government organisation representing the interests of the Australian alcohol and other drugs sector. DrugInfo Clearinghouse - functions as a drug prevention network, providing easy access to information about alcohol and other drugs, and drug prevention.
