 Courses

Transport Light Vehicle, Mechanical/Electrical Service & Repair develops courses for the automotive service and repair industry sectors at entry or pre-employment level. Traineeships, apprenticeships and post trade courses are also developed.  
 

TAFE NSW Courses

You can browse through the Transport Light Vehicle, Mechanical/Electrical Service & Repair course information from the TAFE NSW Handbook - this will be displayed in a new browser window. The information is updated daily and shows course name and number - full details of each course (description, locations, qualification level, duration, etc.) can be obtained by following links on the page. 

TAFE NSW is the sole provider for the Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA) NSW for the Authorised Inspection Station Scheme. TAFE Plus has a specific website providing information about courses for the RTA.

Commercial courses
  • TAFEPlus is the commercial training arm of TAFE NSW, customising training to suit the needs of industry and individuals. You can search for a course and enrol online.
Distance & online education options
  • OTEN (Open Training & Education Network) delivers a wide range of qualifications through distance education and flexible delivery to technical and further education students, schools and outside organisations.
  • Web-supported study options are offered either in an on-campus study program, or as a fully online study program, and often in 'mixed mode' - a combination of both on-campus and online activities.

Top Gear Careers (or T3) - a program providing a career pathway into the automotive industries for young people still studying at high school. The Department of Education (DET) in NSW also provides information on this program.
