Mechanical Services

 What we do

Mechanical Services develops course and resources for:
 

mechanical engineering; naval architecture
higher engineering trade
boating services; marine craft construction
TVET Metal & engineering
drafting & CAD; non-destructive testing
fitting & machining; toolmaking; fluid power
locksmithing; watchmaking

Specific areas include:

     • Mechanical trades training, including Fitting and Machining,
       Locksmithing and Watchmaking
     • Mechanical technician training, particularly maintenance and fluid
       power skills
     • Mechanical engineering associate training, including such areas as
       general mechanical engineering, maintenance management and naval
       architecture
     • Materials technology associate training including materials production
       and processing
     • Operator level training in mechanical and materials processing areas
       including metal finishing
     • Quality management

Development of the courses involves consultation with a range of stakeholders. In particular industry input plays a vital role. All courses are developed in close co-operation with Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA), the national Industry Skills Council (ISC).

Graduates of courses from this area find employment in manufacturing and engineering both in the public sector and private industry.

The International Students Centre assists and advises international students who would like to study in Australia on a student visa at a TAFE NSW institute, TAFE English language centre or a NSW government high school.   International Students can get help at all stages, from initial enquiries through to post course completion.
