Courses

MEC&T Curriculum Centre develops a wide range of mainstream courses to meet the needs of the NSW community. Courses range from TAFE Statements to Advanced Diplomas and are offered at many TAFE Colleges throughout NSW.

  • Browse through the MEC&T course information from the TAFE NSW Handbook (this will be displayed in a new browser window). The information is updated daily and shows course name and number - full details of each course (description, locations, qualification level, duration, etc.) can be obtained by following links on the page.

  • For MEC&T courses relating to a specific area of interest, select a program area from the drop down list at the top of this page and then go to the Courses & Careers page. (Alternatively, you can also use the Course & Careers Pages Index to go directly to Courses & Careers page of interest.)

Many of our courses are also offered by distance education, through the Open Training & Education Network (OTEN), to NSW and non-NSW residents including those from outside Australia.

We also develop courses for TAFEPlus which offers courses on a commercial basis - these are mainly short courses and can be customised to meet specific customer requirements.

Many of the courses developed by the MEC&T Curriculum Centre articulate into University courses. Articulation information for students who have undertaken TAFE NSW studies and wish to enrol in studies at universities within New South Wales (NSW) & the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is provided on the Articulation & Credit Transfer Information page.

The TAFE NSW/Universities Credit Transfer & Articulation website also provides this information about learning pathways between TAFE NSW and selected universities.

 Training Packages

Training Package qualifications have been developed nationally over recent years in order to standardise vocational education and training across Australia. TAFE NSW, through its Curriculum Centres, prepares courses enabling students to gain many of these nationally recognised Training Package qualifications.
(For further information see the Training Packages page.)

MEC&T Curriculum Centre has developed courses for a number of Training Packages.
