About TAFE NSW Curriculum Centres

The five Curriculum Centres are units of the NSW Technical and Further Education (TAFE) Commission, known as TAFE NSW. Curriculum Centres develop educational programs and produce quality teaching and learning resources to assist in the delivery of vocational education and training.

The five Curriculum Centres provide a range of educational services to a range of clients:

Curriculum research and development

Curriculum Centres are primarily responsible for the design, development and maintenance of courses of education and training delivered by the NSW TAFE Institutes. Each Centre is committed to the development of high quality competency- based curricula to meet the needs of industry and the community at large.

Educational strategies and frameworks

The primary task of Curriculum Centre staff is to plan, design and co-ordinate the development of education and training in line with national and state industries educational priorities, government priorities and community needs within the National Training Framework Guidelines. The Centres are responsible for undertaking training needs analysis, strategic planning and advice to all Institutes in TAFE NSW, national Industry Skills Centres and government agencies.

Product development and production

The Curriculum Centres have implemented an AQC aligned Management Framework to ensure the quality of all services and products. This system is based on the TAFE NSW Quality Statement and complies with the standard ISO 9001.

Advisory & consultancy services

Program Managers at each Centre have extensive industry experience and are also professionally qualified educators. Curriculum Centres were established to provide a central point of contact with TAFE NSW for national Industry Skills Centres, industry associations, government agencies, enterprise and community organisations. Continual liaison with these stakeholders puts the Curriculum Centres at the leading edge of vocational education and training development and provision.
