This course is designed for people who want to train in the costume sector of the film, television and entertainment industry to become costume makers, cutters and technicians with special consideration of costume requirements for screen and live entertainment productions.

Students in the Diploma of Costume are involved in a comprehensive training program that covers a wide range of technical applications including costume research and interpretation for a performance context; pattern cutting and draping; costume construction; corsetry and undergarments; art finishing; theatrical millinery; accessory development as well as costume supervision, project planning, dressing and costume maintenance.

The on-campus training is supplemented and enhanced by on-the-job experience with notable production companies in theatre, television, film and the entertainment industries in general.   
Over the last twelve months, students and graduates have worked in such internationally important organisations as the Costume Museum, Bath, UK, the Powerhouse Museum; and in wardrobe departments for such companies as Opera Australia, The Vintage Clothing Shop, Company B, Anthony Phillips Costumes, The Bell Shakespeare Company, The Australian Ballet, The Costume Design Centre, Channel 7 and The Sydney Theatre Company.
