Chemical Risk Management - Level 4 Qualification

The Chemical Risk Management Course is a three-day course with  further half-day for assessment, for contractors, farmers, managers, agricultural consultants and advisers who make decisions about the application of chemicals. 

The course provides information and skills required to manage those risks associated with transporting, storing, mixing and loading, applying and disposing of chemicals.

The course will integrate your industry's quality assurance and best management practices with chemical training. This will help you make decisions about agricultural and veterinary chemicals to satisfy increasing community expectations of safe food and a cleaner environment.

The Chemical Risk Management Course concentrates on risk-management strategies for chemical use. You will improve your ability to make decisions about:

  • The strategic use of chemicals to retain their effectiveness, maintain food safety and environmental standards and improve market access.
     

  • Risks to workers' health and safety and implementing control measures such as personal protective equipment and staff training.
     

  • Risks to neighbours and your local environment
     

  • Integrated pest management (IPM). integrated resistance management (IRM) and selections of the most suitable chemical as part of and IPM or IRM strategy.
